Implant Treatment

All-on-4 Implant Technique

Dental implants are the most effective solution for patients suffering from missing teeth. Dental implants give an image like your own natural teeth and performs the function that way. The All-on-4 Technique is a technique that allows dental prosthesis to be fixed on four dental implants that are placed at certain angles in full toothless (total edentulism) patients. Clinical and radiological examination should be performed primarily in patients who are scheduled to receive All-on-4 treatment. Appropriate planning is made for the patient by making measurements on computerized tomography (CT), appropriate planning is done for the patient. This treatment consists of two steps, as surgery and dental prosthesis. The removable dental prosthesis is fixed on the dental implants within 36 hours after placing 4 dental implants in the patient as planned on the treatment day. After 3 months, fixed permanently dental prosthesis are made to the patient.

Applicable to whom?

This treatment can be applied to all full toothless (total edentulism) patients with adequate bone density and without any systemic disease that would interfere with dental implant surgery. The removable temporary dental prosthesis fixed on the dental implants can be used immediately after the procedure. However, patients should be fed on a recommended diet during the 3-month period of bone fusion dental implant. With the fixed permanently prosthesis after this process is completed, can be returned to the normal diet .

What are the advantages?

• Offers the possibility of making a fixed permanently prosthesis with a single surgical procedure on the same day to full toothless patients.

• Operation is easier because no advanced surgical procedure such as Sinus lift (Maxillary sinus floor augmentation surgery) , bone grafting is applied

• The duration of dental implant surgery is rather short.

• The cost is even lower because the number of dental implants used is reduced and no extra surgery is required.

• Personalized planning, aesthetic appearance and smile aesthetic is provided

• Cleaning and care is easy.

• Suitable for patients who cannot use a denture prosthesis.

  1. The design is different according to the conventional full denture (immediate full denture)
  2. It is easier to use as does not cover the palate of patient.

• Because the number of treatment sessions is low, it is suitable for patients who live outside the city or country.

Is it a reliable technique?

All-on-4 Technique (4 Implant Technique) 1is a technique that has been applied successfully for more than 10 years in dentistry.

This technique offers a reliable, fast and cost-effective alternative treatment option in dentistry.

Although requires extra cost, technology and ability, it is often used by physicians dealing in this field and seems to have achieved a very high success rate.

What is the difference between the classic implant and bridge?

In a standard implant technique, the implants are placed at an average of 90 degrees to the jawbone. A minimum of 6 implants are needed to support the bridge prosthesis. It is also necessary to wait 3-6 months of healing time before teeth can be built on it. In addition, sometimes bone grafting may be necessary if the patient does not have enough bone tissue.

The difference between the traditional method

All-on-4 Technique :

• Requires only 4 implants for a fixed bridge.

• It is usually cheaper and more effective solution.

• Treatment is usually done without bone grafting.

• Implants and teeth can be fitted at the same time (within a single appointment).

Traditional Method:

• 6-8 implants are needed for a fixed treatment.

• It is even more costly as more implants, surgery and appointments are required

• Generally, bone grafting is needed and treatment duration is longer.

• Requires more than one appointment, a temporary prosthesis should not be inserted until the permanent prosthesis.

• Requires a 6-8-month recovery phase.

A dental implant is an artificial tooth root placed in the jawbone and made of suitable material to restore function and aesthetics of missing teeth.

Traditional crowning is a safer, functional alternative treatment compared to bridge and plate prostheses.

Implant therapy is a comfortable, robust and reliable application. Implant supported dental prosthesis form a natural structure while taking the place of real teeth. When missing teeth are completed, healthy teeth are not touched. It is much durable than all dentures.

Thanks to the confidence feeling it will eliminate negative psychological effects of missing teeth.

The work to create a safe implant has been ongoing since the early 1800's. Today, there are implants in the market with very close to perfection, 35-40 years of clinical follow-up. Your dentist will give you more detailed information in this regard.

Implant therapy can be applied for any situation, whether single tooth or multiple missing tooth if there is bone in the proper volume  to implant.

Implant screws are structures that have a specific thickness and width. For this reason, in the area where implant placement is projected, the jawbone must have the height and width to accept this implant screw. The quality of the current bone is one of the factors affecting the success of the implant.

In addition, as long as the implant remains in the mouth and before the treatment, the gingiva must be completely healthy. There is no upper age limit to prevent implant application as long as the general health condition of the patient is good. Implant can be applied to anyone with a good general health condition. However, implementation may not be preferred for very young patients whose bone development has not been completed.

No, if appropriate anesthesia methods are applied. General or local anesthesia can be used depending on patient preference during operation. After the surgery, It can be a pain similar to pain after tooth extraction. Usually this pain can be relieved with simple painkillers in the evening when the implant is placed. In cases where treatment is completed without problems, you are comfortable enough not to feel the presence of the implants

We want you to ask our other patients, how do they feel after implant treatment. Our doctors and office team are always with you to make you feel comfortable.

Nowadays Implant operations can even be done in just 10 minutes only. The total time varies according to the operation scheme determined according to your tooth and bone structure. Usually, the operation is finished in the second month after the first operation. In the meantime, you can continue your normal daily life with removable temporary prosthetics.

In order to achieve full integration of the bone fusion dental implant (Osseointegration), the load on the implant should be reduced to the minimum during the first 2-3 months.

Your doctor will not leave you toothless by making a temporary removable prosthesis suitable for you during this healing period.

Then the permanent teeth will be mounted on your implants and the treatment will be finalized.

Yes, . It is also very important. If the implants are thought to be foreign bodies in the mouth, we would like to state that cleaning of them is at least as important as your own teeth, even more important . Implant cleaning is not much different from cleaning your normal teeth, and your dentist will tell you about the cleaning methods in detail. What you need to remember is, the most important factor for the success of this type of treatment is regular oral care.

Implant supported dental prosthesis can be in different types according to the nature of the case. These can be planned to be removed by the patient for easy cleaning purposes, or as to be removed by the dentist.

Both planning have advantages and disadvantages, and your physician will tell you about the suitable design for you before your treatment begins.

No. If the number of missing teeth is more than one, a single implant may serve for 2-3 teeth depending on the area where implant placement is projected .

If the proper implant and method is used, there is little if any such possibility. This type of failure usually occurs within the first 3 months following surgery. In such a case, the implant should be displaced with a procedure as easy as tooth extraction. A new implant can be placed following the healing of the bone in this area, or one of the classical prostheses can be preferred. However, in general, the remaining implants are sufficient to serve with the redesign of the prosthesis in cases where more than two implants are implanted.

Smoking especially during the early period increases the risk of infection.

a) Patients who have lost all of their teeth in the sub maxilla and carry prosthesis: These patients complain of chronic pain (pinched) and inadequate chewing due to the movement of the prosthesis. This complaint becomes more and more evident over time with the osteopenia, which is supported the prosthesis. In such patients, implant treatment stops all of the complaints mentioned above and also stops the osteopenia.

b) Patients who have lost all of their teeth in the maxilla and carry prosthesis:

Although the upper prosthesis is more stable than the lower jaw prosthesis, covering the palate by the prosthesis may  reduce the sensation of taste and cause nausea.

c) Patients who lost some of its sub maxilla or maxilla teeth: The complaints of these patients are the ugly image of the prosthesis held by the bridge hooks, or the necessity of cutting the healthy  teeth so that a bridge can be made.

d) Patients who have lost a single tooth: In classical treatment methods, have to sacrifice at least two adjacent teeth for a single tooth restoration. In such cases, a single implant can be placed to rescue the adjacent teeth and provide more aesthetic and functional results.

There are many factors to consider when making implant placement decisions. First, the patient must be healthy, the healing power of the patient should be in place. For example, if the patient is uncontrolled diabetic, half-healing can be a complication. In addition, the patient must be examined, should be carefully selected suitable implant for patient and implant placement method. In addition to careful placement of the implants by the dentist, the patient must also show special interest. Complications may occur if the patient does not perform the implant care properly. In addition, the success of implants is adversely affected in patients who smoke and use excessive alcohol.

Implants have been seen in the mouth for as long as 30 years. The life of the implant depends on many factors. The health of the patient and the care of the implants are two of them. If required care is performed, the implants can be used for a lifetime. Your dentist can explain it to you many influences that affect their lifespan and your risks.

No. Health is a much more important factor than age. Many patients, ages  70-80s ,  have a lower surgical risk than younger patients with health problems. Also older people are more likely to need implants than younger ones because older people have more tooth loss.

Implants are made from materials that have no side effects to the organism, and have been subjected to intensive research for years. These substances are materials that are never part of a living organism.

It is not possible for the body to produce antigen against them and reject them as in heart and kidney transplants.

In the medical literature, no findings were found to indicate that implants caused cancer.

Implants are generally not used for cosmetic reasons. The purpose of using the implants is to support the prosthetic teeth. Cosmetic corrections can be made using dentures, but you should tell your dentist before you start such treatment.

Although implant application techniques, are highly developed, it may fail in very rare cases. In such cases, it should first be started with operations aimed at eliminating the problem. We can give you the necessary information about the care of your implant and we can inspect it if necessary. We will do our utmost for the success of the implants, but you have to do the same.

This depends on your situation, your needs and the process to be done. A single operation can last from 10 minutes to several hours. A whole treatment can be done with an operation or may require a series of surgeries and appointments. Full recovery may take 3-4 months.

We usually recommend recreation on the day of surgery and following one or two days. Swelling, pain and empurpling may occur at the area of surgery and it is necessary to reiterate that you will never be toothless during the treatment. In most cases a day or weekend is enough for all these operations.
